Privacy Policy
Hibbey is built around the idea that a conversation doesn't have to leave a trace. This policy explains what data we do collect, why, and what we never do with it.
What data we collect
- Email address and password — needed to create an account and log in. Your password is stored encrypted; we can't see it.
- Language preferences — which language(s) you want to use, both for conversations and for the interface itself.
- Reports and blocks — if you report or block someone, we keep a record of that, along with a copy of the messages involved, solely to make moderation possible.
What we deliberately don't store
The content of your conversations is not stored permanently. Once a conversation ends, the messages are automatically deleted within a few minutes — except when a conversation has been reported, in which case we keep a copy for review by a moderator.
We don't keep a profile of you, no name, no photo, and no history of who you've talked to.
Where data is stored
Hibbey's data is hosted within the European Union (Ireland), via our database provider, Supabase.
Sharing with third parties
We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties. No ad tracking is used within Hibbey.
Your rights
You can permanently delete your account, including all associated data, at any time yourself via Settings → Account → Delete account. For other questions about your data, you can reach us at hello@hibbey.com.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be announced within the app itself.
